Cigar Tax Cap Bill Passes New York Senate

Action Alert!

We are pleased to announce that S 3410, a bill to provide a tax cap on cigars in the state of New York, has passed the New York Senate.

This effort advocated jointly by Cigar Rights of America, the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association, the New York Tobacconist Association, and the Cigar Association of America, is a significant move forward.

Now, we need to focus on AB 1093, the New York Assembly version of this bill.

Please contact your member of the New York Assembly and ask them to please support AB 1093.

Additionally, we ask that you please contact Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and ask him to bring this bill to the floor for a vote.
