ImagePlus: New Perdomo Habano Connecticut on introductory special at Cigars International!

Los Angeles, March 25 – “Bering is the choice of GOOD cigar smokers everywhere because it contains only the choicest Havana tobaccos, grown and matured in the gentle climate of tropical Cuba, properly aged and cured to mildness, skillfully blended and fashioned by hand into matches perfection by skilled artisans, in the BERING factory at Tampa, Florida.

“Men who have tried them never change to another brand. This is their finest tribute to BERING.”

That’s from a Corral, Wodiska & Co. brochure from the 1930s extolling the virtue of its Bering brand, which became one of the nation’s best-selling cigars in the 1950s and 1960s. Machine-made, it was modestly priced, with a corona size selling for about a quarter in the early 1960s.

In the tumult of the decades and the move of many smokers to handmade cigars, Bering finally came out as an all-handmade line from Honduras in 1990 after its parent company was purchased by Swisher International in 1985.

Today, Bering no longer sits on a perch at the top of the sales charts, but as a mild-to-medium-bodied cigar, it’s well made and still an excellent value. For one week, it’s going to be a ridiculously good value.

How about 50 Bering Robustos – 4 3/4 inches by 50 ring – for the price of 25, a $125 value for just $44.95, or 90 cent a cigar? It’s a “buy one, get one free” offer just for CigarCyclopedia.com readers from Mike’s Cigars of Bay Harbor, Florida.

Click here to take advantage of this readers-only special. Our thanks to Mike’s for the offer; you can buy as many of these specials as you like until 9 a.m. Eastern time on Monday, March 31, or until supplies run out.
