Los Angeles, May 13 – Carlos and Ernesto Padilla have worked diligently to create an interesting and flavorful boutique brand with their Padilla line that started just five years ago.

One of their top lines has been the Miami 8 & 11, introduced in 2005 and made at the then almost-unknown El Rey de Los Habanos factory run by Jose “Pepin” Garcia. That brand will no longer be made by Garcia as the Padillas are opening their own factory in Miami to make that line and others, but there are plenty of cigars on hand until the new factory opens.

That’s good because Famous Smoke Shop is having a big sale on the Miami 8 & 11, as well as the Padilla Signature 1932. Those are two of the more than two dozen brands we found on special this week.

Our reader’s-only special:
Fans of the Romeo y Julieta brand and of the Tabacalera A. Fuente will like this deal: buy any box of Romeos and get a five-pack sampler of the Bauza Pyramids (5 1/2 inches by 55 ring) added in for free!

Click here to take advantage of this readers-only special. Our thanks to Mike’s for the offer; you can buy as many of these specials as you like until 9 a.m. Eastern time on Monday, May 19, or until supplies run out.

Abner's World:
If you are one of the many who have jumped on the bandwagon of very short cigars with a larger ring gauge – the “sub-robustos” – here’s a nice deal on the Oliva Serie G Maduro Special G (3 3/4 inches by 48 ring), offered in the box of 48, normally $109.95, now $99.95, best in our survey.

AtlanticCigar.com:
The Montesino brand is a first-quality cigar designed to be offered at a value price by the Tabacalera A. Fuente. Because it isn’t named “Arturo Fuente,” it’s a little under-appreciated, but still a solid value and two sizes are now offered at the lowest prices in our review.

  • Havana Sun Grown by Alec Bradley, made at Tabadom in the Dominican Republic:

    > Corona (6 1/8 x 43), in the box of 20 for $51.15;

    > Grande (6 x 54), 20 for $69.00, or try

    > Toro (6 x 46), 20 for $54.45.

  • Montesino, a Fuente-made cigar that’s worth a try:

    > No. 2 (6 1/4 x 44), in boxes of 25 was $62.95, now $59.50;

    > Diplomatico (5 1/2 x 42), 25 was $57.95, now $54.50.

  • Onyx Reserve, famed for its extra-dark, Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper:

    > Churchill (7 x 50), in boxes of 20 was $63.56, now $59.50;

    > Lonsdale (6 3/4 x 44), 20 was $56.87, now $54.50;

    > No. 2 (6 1/8 x 52), 20 was $70.25, now $64.50;

    > Robusto (5 x 50), 20 was $53.52, now $48.50;

    > Toro (6 x 50), 20 was $56.87, now $54.50.

  • Puros Indios Piramide No. 1 (7 1/2 x 60), in boxes of 10 was $52.00, now $46.00; just showing this cigar to your friends will make them jealous!

    BestCigarPrices.com:
