CRA FREEDOM TOUR UNDERWAY Print E-mail
ImagePlus: Miami Cigar to distribute Felipe Gregorio cigars!

Los Angeles, August 20 – The Cigar Rights of America Freedom Tour has begun in a big way, with a heavily-attended opening at Hudson Terrace in New York City on Tuesday night.

The tour is designed to promote membership in CRA, designed as a grass-roots voice for cigar smokers to have impact as heavier taxes and smoking bans spread across the country.

The effort is drawing some notice, with articles appearing in Crain’s Chicago Business and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in advance of the stops there today and tomorrow. The remaining events in the five-city, four-day tour include:

  • Wednesday, August 20: Minneapolis, Minnesota
At the Seven Skybar of r.Norman’s The Steakhouse from 6-10 p.m.; tickets are $60 in advance; $75 at the door if space is available; click here for where to buy tickets for all Freedom Tour events.

  • Wednesday, August 20: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
At Western Lakes Golf Club from 4-8 p.m.; tickets are $45 in advance; $60 at the door if space is available.

  • Thursday, August 21: Chicago, Illinois: two locations
    (1) At UpDown Cigar from 4-8 p.m.; tickets are $40 in advance; $50 at the door if space is available, and

    (2) At 8 to 8 Cigar from 4-8 p.m.; $40 in advance; $50 at the door if space is available.

Friday’s event in Orlando, Florida at the Rooftop Lounge at Stirling’s Global Gallery is already a sell-out. All ticket purchases include with it a one-year membership in CRA.

You don’t have to attend to join CRA; memberships start at one year for $30 up to $500 for a life membership. Click here to join now!

Miami Cigar expanding to add Felipe Gregorio
Miami Cigar & Co. has been the long-time distributor of brands from the La Aurora factory in the Dominican Republic, but they’re aggressively branching out.

During last month’s International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association convention and trade show in Las Vegas, Miami Cigar added Tony Borhani’s Nicaraguan-made Bahia line to its line-up, freeing the peripatetic Borhani to concentrate on making and promoting his cigars, rather than having to sell them.

Last week, Miami Cigar announced that it would be distributing Brun del Re, a Costa Rican-made cigar to the U.S. after a successful introduction in Europe.

Although the preferred humidity setting for cigars is 70%, temperature control of 70-75 F is equally important.
