Los Angeles, September 2 – Like everyone else, cigar retailers are enjoying the end of summer and there aren’t too many specials this week. However, manufacturers and distributors are beginning to ship new brands and sizes introduced at the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association convention & trade show held in July.

We’re also hearing a good rumor about more consolidation in the retail sector, notably in the purchase of a major U.S. mail-order operator by one of the top premium cigar distributors in the country, but everyone who actually knows is mum . . . for now.
