STEALS AND DEALSIncluding a great all-Fuente sampler including Añejo, Don Carlos, Hemingway and Opus X

Los Angeles, June 14 – Just in time for Father’s Day come some nice specials on some very good cigars:

BestCigarPrices.com:
Check out these specials on two brands you rarely seen on the discount list:

• Ashton Aged Maduro, now $15 off per box on a brand which is rarely discounted and often hard to find. Did we mention that it’s one of the best anywhere, ranking no. 2 on our list of the best full-bodied cigars on the U.S. market:

> No. 10 (5 inches by 50 ring), was $179 for the box of 25, now $164, the lowest price we have seen anywhere;

> No. 20 (5 1/2 x 44), was $169 for 25, now $154;

> No. 30 (6 3/4 x 44), was $185 for 25, now $170;

> No. 40 (6 x 50), was $185 for 25, now $170 and absolutely worth it;

> No. 50 (7 x 48), was $197 for 25, now $182;

> No. 60 (7 1/2 x 52), was $206 for 25, now $191, and

> Pyramid (6 x 52), was $219 for 25, now $204.

• Trinidad, a new brand for BestCigarPrices.com and one we like very much. It’s also a ranked cigar, on our list of the best full-bodied brands available in the U.S.:

> Belicoso (6 1/8 x 52), a box of 25 is now $200, the lowest price we have seen in a while;

> Churchill (7 x 50), 25 for $165;

> Corona (5 x 44), 25 for $135;

> Fundador (7 1/2 x 40), 25 for $160, and

> Mini Belicoso (5 x 52), 25 for $160, perhaps the best bargain of the bunch.

Famous Smoke Shop:
Arthur Zaretzky is sharing some excellent values, some on brands which rarely see much discounting:

• C.A.O. Brazilia, now offered in sampler packs of five. This is a very popular line and you can try them for a modest investment: from $9.95 (for the Cariocas: 4 x 38) to $32.95 (for the Amazon: 6 x 60).

The popular Ipanema (7 x 50) and Lambada (6 x 50) sizes are both $28.95 for five cigars.

• Kaizad Hansotia’s Gurkha Legend Series Robusto (6 x 50), was $220.95 for the box of 20, now offered at the lowest price we have seen, $199.95.

• Indian Vintage 1990/1992, which has earned its growing reputation for quality, now in sampler packs of five:

> 1990 Toro (6 1/2 x 52), was $41.95 for five, now $26.25, the lowest price we have seen;

> 1992 Robusto (5 1/2 x 50), was $30.95 for five, now $19.50. Wow!

• Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970, all the rage among smokers of full-bodied, stout cigars, at $10 off per box. The best value – at a very low price point – is the Consul (4 1/2 x 52). The box of 20 was $63.95, now $53.95.

• La Vieja Habana, a hard-to-believe blend of flavor and value and perhaps Jonathon Drew’s most underrated cigar, now $5 off per box:

> Belicoso D (6 x 54 torpedo), only $27.95 for the box of 20!

> Cedar Chateau No. 1 (5 1/2 x 44), 20 now only $22.95!

> Cedar Chateau No. 2 (5 x 50), 20 now $23.95!

> Cedar Chateau No. 3 (6 1/2 x 46), 20 now $24.95, an outrageous value.

> Celebracion National (7 x 52), 20 now $30.95;

> Robusto Tubo (5 x 50), the box of 16 is now $28.95;

> Rothschild Luxo (5 1/2 x 52), 20 now $26.95, and

> Toro Tubo (6 x 50), 16 now $34.95, all at the lowest prices we have seen on this remarkable, value brand. Dollar for dollar, the LVH series might be the best value anywhere.

• Montesino Gran Corona (6 3/4 x 48) from the Tabacalera A. Fuente, was $76.95 for the box of 25, now $69.95, as low as we have seen.

• A terrific opportunity on the standard series of Padron, which we think more highly of than the more celebrated Anniversary or 1926 series. Here they are in five-packs:

> Padron 4000 (6 1/2 x 54), was $29.50, now $24.50;

> Padron 5000 (5 1/2 x 56), was $28.75, now $23.75;

> Padron 6000 (5 1/2 x 52), was $31.50, now $26.50;

> Padron Ambassador (6 7/8 x 42), was $16.25, now $13.25, and

> Padron Churchill (6 7/8 x 46), was $20.50, now $17.50, just an excellent smoke.

• Plasencia Reserva Organica Robusto (4 3/4 x 52), an unusual smoke because of its completely organic growing and curing processes. Offered in a sampler pack of five, the Robusto was $37.95, but now only $24.00.

The Educated Cigar:
From Richland, Washington comes a unique special for fans of the Tabacalera A. Fuente, a way to try much of the factory’s best cigars all at once:

> Arthro Fuente Añejos – almost impossible to find – No. 48 and No. 49 (one each);

> Don Carlos No. 3 and No. 4 (two each);

> Hemingway Series Between the Lines (one), Short Story and Signatures (four each);

> Opus X Perfecxion No. 4, Perfecxion No. 5 and Robustos (one each).

The 18-cigar sampler isn’t cheap, but at $255, you get to try almost all of the great tastes of this renowned factory.

Hammer time:
Opus X was also on sale on eBay, where a sealed box of 32 Perfecxion X (6 1/8 x 48) drew lively interest in an auction which ended on June 3.

The box drew 10 bids starting at $400 and ending at $660, an average of $20.63 per cigar, about the average for Opus X on auction.
