STEALS AND DEALSLos Angeles, July 5 – Our weekly look at getting the most for your money when buying cigars:

AtlanticCigar.com:
Good news if you’re a Rocky Patel fan, but that’s not all:

• Camacho Havana on sale, an excellent value to start, but now especially attractive:

> Figurado (7 inches by 54 ring gauge), was $57.25 in a box of 20, now $56.40, the lowest we have seen;

> Churchill (7 x 48), was $51.16 for 20, now $50.40;

> Toro (6 x 50), was $47.50 for 20, now $46.80;

> Cetros (6 1/2 x 44), was $45.07 for 20, now $44.04;

> Monarca (5 x 50), also $45.07 for 20, now $44.04;

> Nacionales (5 1/2 x 44), was $37.76 for 20, now $37.20;

> Petit (5 1/2 x 42), was $42.75 for 20, now $34.20.

• Indian Tabac Vintage, one of Patel’s best and a brand we ranked in the top 20 of all full-bodied brands offered on the U.S. market:

> 1990 or 1992 Vintage Robustos (5 1/2 x 50), was $117 in the box of 20, now $110.00, the lowest price we have see, plus a free bundle of 25 of Atlantic’s Vega Estate X brand.

> 1990 or 1992 Churchills (7 x 50), was $135.00 for 20, now $123.50 plus the free bundle of 25 Vega Estate X;

> 1990 or 1992 Torpedoes (6 1/2 x 52), was $157.50 for 20, now $139.75 plus 25 free Vega Estate X;

> 1990 or 1992 Toros (6 1/2 x 52), was $135.00, now $123.50, plus 25 free Vega Estate X, and

> 1992 Petite Coronas (4 1/2 x 44), offered in the box of 20 for $83.30, plus, of course, 25 free Vega Estate X.

> Nicarao, a brand that surprised us so much we ranked it 13th in our list of the top full-bodied brands on the U.S. market. Atlantic is offering Nicarao in boxes of 20 at the lowest prices we found, with special savings on two sizes:

> Julierta (7 x 50), in the box of 20 for $69.60, and

> Piramide (6 x 52), with 20 now $64.80.

This is a cigar well worth trying if you’re a fan of smooth, caramelized tastes.

• Sungrown by Rocky Patel, which Rocky swears is just as good as his Vintage or Edge lines, at considerable savings:

> Petite Corona (4 1/2 x 44), in the box of 20 for $81.60, plus 10 free Vega Estate X cigars of the same size;

> Robusto (5 1/2 x 50), the box of 20 for $96.90, plus 10 free Vega Estate X cigars of the same size;

> Torpedo (6 1/4 x 52), 20 for $130.90, plus 10 free Vega Estate X cigars of the same size, and

> Toro (6 1/2 x 52), 20 for $113.90, plus those 10 Vega Estate X cigars.

Three nice opportunities, especially to try two brands normally not found in samplers:

• C.A.O. l’Anniversaire Maduro Toro (5 1/2 x 55), now in a five-pack for $28.20, a nice price on this rarely-discounted brand;

• La Aroma de Cuba in a six-size sampler, now $26.95, a great way to try this high-profile brand from Ashtron Distributors;

• Trinidad Belicoso (6 1/8 x 52), an outstanding brand with rich, but understated flavor that must be smoked slowly to be appreciated. It’s offered now in a box of 25 for $200, the best price we have seen of late.

Cigars International:
Keith Meier’s first up with a discounted special on The Griffin’s Special XXI Edition (5 1/2 x 50) in the box of 10. It retails for $100, but is offered now at $84.50.

J-R Cigars:
Lew Rothman took a couple of week vacation, but he’s back in the saddle with three great specials and an unbelievable new attraction for cigar lovers. More on the new attraction tomorrow, but here are the specials:
• Bauza Fabulosos (7 1/2 x 50), made by the Tabacalera A. Fuente for Mike’s Cigars and rarely on sale. A box of 25 is usually $99.00, but now $84.95.

• Casa Blanca Jeroboams (10 x 66), useful as a billy club or for nerfball, normally $26.95 for five, now $19.95!

• Montrecristo H2000 Taj Mahals (8 x 52), regularly $84.95 in the box of 10, but now only $59.95.

Mike’s Cigars:
Oscar Boruchin has a special touch when it comes to cigars from Miami and he’s doing something special with the new boxes of 10 from La Gloria Cubana. But first:

• Bolivar, which is ready to be reformatted by General Cigar, offered in two popular sizes at the lowest prices we have seen:

> Privee A (7 1/4 x 49), was $69.95 for the box of 25, now $59.95;

> Privee C (5 3/4 x 43), was $49.95 for 25, now $39.95.

• La Gloria Cubana, now offered in boxes of 10, at the lowest price Oscar can afford:

> Churchill (7 x 50), was $35.62, now $30.34!

> Corona Gorda (6 x 52), was $33.00, now $27.98!

> Wavell (5 x 50), was $29.25, now $25.18!

And the winner is . . .
