The Ammo Box is back!Los Angeles, August 30 – Retailers are getting ready to receive new merchandise shown at the RTDA show, plus the return of one of the great cigar items of all time: the Belinda Ammo Box! Abner’s World: Helix is on sale this week, now part of the General Cigar empire. It’s a wonderful mild cigar that we ranked no. 3 among all such cigars on the U.S. market. The price was already accessible, but now it’s downright cheap: > x 542 (5 x 42) was $43.25 for a box of 25, now $41.25, lowest in our survey; > x 550 (5 x 50) was $47.50 for 25, now $44.95, and > x 652 (6 x 52) was $53.50 for 25, now $49.95. AtlanticCigar.com: Atlantic is offering a unique Camacho sampler that’s a great way to try Christian Eiroa’s best-loved blends. This four-pack includes one each of the Face-Off by Christian Eiroa (5 3/4 inches by 50 ring), a unique blend with tobacco provided by Litto Gomez of La Flor Dominicana; one Camacho Corojo 11/18 (a 6 x 54 perfecto that is hard to find in any case); one Camacho Corojo Monarca (5 x 50) with a hard-to-find maduro wrapper and a Camacho SLR Rothschild (4 1/2 x 50), also in maduro. Four difficult-to-find Camachos for $24.50, while they last. BestCigarPrices.com: Davidoff of Geneva introduced a modestly-priced line at the RTDA show offered in bundles of nine tubos (“3x3") or 16 cigars (“4x4"). BestCigarPrices has them now: • 3x3 Tubos, at the lowest prices in our review: > Churchill (6 3/4 x 48), nine tubos for $21.50, and > Robusto (4 7/8 x 50), nine tubos for $20.50. • 4x4 Bundles, the same blend as in the 3x3 Tubos, but without the tubes: > Churchill (6 3/4 x 48) in the bundle of 16 for $33.50; > Corona (5 x 43), 16 for $29.75; > Figurado (4 3/4 x 48), 16 for $30.50; > Robusto (4 7/8 x 50), 16 for $31.50. Corona Cigar Company: A limited time deal on the C.A.O. l’Anniversaire eXtreme line, with all sizes offered at $99.99 for the box of 20. These normally go for between $96.00 and $137.50 for the bigger sizes in our survey, so act now while they last. Famous Smoke Shop: Arthur Zaretsky must have brought cash to the RTDA (no wonder we never saw him!) because he’s first to list many new items, with stock arriving any day now: • Ashton Sovereign, a new size, a 6 3/4 x 55 torpedo, offered in a box of 25 for $219.95. • C.A.O.’s new Cx2 with Cameroon wrapper and binder: > Beli (7 x 56), in the box of 20 for $207.00; > Rob (5 x 52), 20 for $165.00, and > Toro (6 x 54), 20 for $182.00. • Camacho SLR Perfecto No. 2 (5 1/2 x 50), with a maduro wrapper, offered in the box of 25 for $108.95, lowest in our survey. • Graycliff Espresso, on special for some five-packs, lowering prices from the outrageous to the simply ridiculous: > PG (5 1/4 x 50), was $89.95 for five, now $61.95; > Pirate (6 x 52), was $107.95 for five, now $79.95, and > President (7 x 48), was $107.95 for five, now also $79.95. • La Aurora, a brand of high quality which gets lost among the more heavily-promoted Dominican cigars: > No. 4 (5 1/4 x 43), in the box of 25, regularly $50.95, now $45.95, lowest in our review; > Cristals (6 1/4 x 41), in glass tubes in a box of 10, regularly $41.95, now $36.95, lowest we have seen. • Master Blends 2 by Oliva, first to carry: > Churchill (7 x 50), 20 for $179.95; > Robusto (5 x 50), 20 for $161.95 and > Torpedo (6 1/2 x 52), 20 for $197.95. • La Tradicion Cabinet Series Perdomo Reserve Champagne in five-pack samplers, now $5 off; regularly $25.95-37.95, now $20.95 to 32.95.
