Los Angeles, November 22 – While you’re getting ready for the holiday weekend, you can enjoy some nice specials that will leave room for more presents!

Abner’s World:
The La Aurora Preferidos is one of the best cigars you can find anywhere, but it’s only made in one shape: perfecto. Miami Cigar is trying an experiment with a small quantity of a Robusto (5 inches by 50 ring) and Abner’s is one of the first to have them. They’re offered in a box of 25 for $199.95.

AtlanticCigar.com:
Three terrific deals on smaller cigars, handy for when there isn’t much time to smoke, like on the walk back to the office after lunch:

• Avo Signature Small Corona (4 1/2 inches by 43 ring), in the box of 10 for $41.80, lowest in our survey;

• Don Diego Corona (5 1/2 x 42), a pleasant, mild-bodied cigar that should not be underrated, in a box of 25 for $61.05, best in our review, and

• Gran Habano No. 3 Rothchild (4 1/2 x 50), a cigar which has done surprisingly well with retailers from Sherlock’s Haven in San Francisco to Orlando’s Corona Cigar Company, in the box of 20 for $53.48.

Cigars International:
Keith Meier is always trying to find something special. Sometimes he buys a load of leftover cigars and prices them so low that no one will believe they are any good at all. Other times, he browbeats manufacturers into making a special blend for him and then prices them too low again.

Now, he’s found just the right balance with a brilliant maker, two great brand names and just the right prices:

• Puros Indios & Cuba Aliados together in a special combination pack of 20, with ten of each brand in the same size:

> Churchill (7 x 54), 10 of each (20 total) for $49.95;

> Double Corona (7 1/4 x 48), 20 for $49.95

> Robusto (5 x 50), 20 for $39.95, and

> Toro (6 x 53), 20 for $44.95.

Famous Smoke Shop:
More good deals on first-line brands which are not usually seen at discount, or even seen at all:

• Aurora 1495 Series Belicoso (6 1/4 x 52), the newest and best from the La Aurora factory, celebrating 510 years since the founding of Santiago de Los Caballeros in what is now the Dominican Republic. Offered in a box of 20 for $224.95, lowest price we have seen so far.

• Baccarat Rothschild (6 x 50), a great way to try this brand in a pack of five for only $9.15, down from $12.75, best we have seen.
%%pagebreak%%• General Cigar’s new Bolivar blend in the robusto size (5 1/2 x 50), offered in crystal tubes in the box of eight for just $29.95, down from $41.95 and equal-lowest with Abner’s World and J-R Cigars.

Or try the Toro (6 x 52), regularly $118.95 for 25, now $96.95, equal-lowest in our review, along with Abner’s and J-R.

• Casa Toraño, the mildest Toraño blend which has gained wide popularity, in the robusto size (4 3/4 x 52) in a sampler pack of five just $13.50, well off the standard price of $22.50.

• Don Tomas Dominican Corona Gorda (6 x 50), flavorful cigars in another sampler pack of five, normally $15.95, now $12.18, lowest in our review.

• Dunhill Signed Range, rarely even seen, let alone sold, extra-smooth and offered in boxes of 25 for between $211.95 and $288.95. You can test-drive the Corona (5 1/2 x 42) in a pack of five for $45.95.

• Gran Habano Blend No. 1 (Connecticut-wrapped) in the Gran Robusto size (6 x 54) in a sampler pack of five – see for yourself what all the fuss is about – for just $11.40.

• Graycliff Crystal Presidente (7 x 48), in glass tubes in a pack fo five for the ridiculous price of $89.95! Believe it or not, that’s the lowest prices in our survey!

• Indian Tabac Classic Boxer (4 1/2 x 50), often lost in the shuffle in the wake of Rocky Patel’s brilliant Vintage series and The Edge, in a sampler pack of five for just $8.40 (regularly $12.95).

• Jose L. Piedra, an old Cuban brand which dates back to 1880, now again in circulation after being on and off the market for years. The trademark was fought over in the 1980s, but Padron Cigars has owned the name since 1996.

For now, this is a one-size brand made with short filler in the Padron factories, with a medium-bodied flavor. It’s offered in the Churchill size (7 x 46) only in packs of 25 for $49.95, but on sale now for $39.95.

• Montecristo Robusto (5 x 50), in five packs of four cigars each (20 total) for $107.95.

Payless Cigars:
A great steal for lovers of mild-bodied cigars with just a hint of spice. Payless is closing out the highly-regarded Dunhill line in the Peravias size (7 x 50), offering boxes of 25 for $119.95 while they last, well off the regular Payless price of $155.95!

Superior Cigars:
The frenzy over the Vintage line by Rocky Patel is well earned, as the quality of both the 1990 and 1992 blends is apparent from the first puff. Now you can get them at the best prices we have seen in a while:

• 1990 Vintage Churchill (7 x 48) or Toro (6 1/2 x 52), in the box of 20 for $115.38, easily the best we have seen.

• 1990 Vintage Torpedo (6 1/4 x 52), in 20s for $134.62, best we have seen;

• 1992 Vintage Churchill (7 x 48) or Toro (6 1/2 x 52), in the box of 20 for $115.38, and

• 1992 Vintage Robusto (5 1/2 x 50), in the box of 20 for $100.00, well off the regular price of $130.00.

And the winner is:
