GOT TO HAVE IT!Our top ten picks for cigar gadgets you’ve got to have!

Los Angeles, August 16 – Cigars cannot be enjoyed without accessories. At a minimum, there’s a cutter and lighter. And then a humidor and a travel humidor. Now, all the other stuff.

We’ve selected our ten top “cigar gadgets,” with the complete list available to subscribers of our CigarWire service. But here are a few of the highlights:

No. 10: Gargoyle Cigar Bobbleheads
Every cigar lover should have his or her own Cigar Store Indian. Or a Cigar Punch, grinning with satisfaction whenever you look toward your humidor.

However, not everyone has the space or money for a 7-foot tall, 300-pound Indian or Punch in their living room, so the Gargoyle Cigar Company (New York, New York) has come to the rescue.

Gargoyle offers two beautiful 8-inch-tall bobbleheads in ceramic, in the shape of either an Indian or Punch. Both are perfectly finished and cost just $14.95 each. As Gargoyle is a wholesaler, ask your tobacconist to order your favorite from them.

No. 8: Abbey Cigar Rest
This little wonder is unbelievable. It’s so great, you have to wonder why you didn’t invent this.

The Cigar Rest is a tiny acrylic tray just 2 1/4 inches long, 1 5/8 inches wide and 1 1/8 inches tall. It is formed so that the top of the tray has a curve cut into it to allow a cigar to be set on its two edges.

There is a bowl underneath the rim which can be used as a small ashtray, although it will barely hold a Churchill’s worth of ash. But that’s enough.

Best of all, it comes in a choice of colors: clear, amber, blue or purple and retails for just $1.

It’s also offered by a wholesaler, Abbey Cigar Products of Bellingham, Washington, so ask your tobacconist to order a dozen . . . for you!

No. 6: El Torcedor Cigar Repair Kit
This item is critical for anyone who has more than a few cigars. Whether from a manufacturing error or some rough handling, a wrapper occasionally comes loose. If there’s no way to fix it, the cigar usually has to be discarded.

Enter Rafael Belaubre, leader of the inventive Credo line of accessories. He now offers “El Torcedor,” a 5 ml bottle of the same vegetal adhesive actually used by cigar rollers to seal wrappers and caps on cigars as they are made.

The little bottle comes with an applicator brush not unlike that found on other liquid glues. Just a touch underneath the errant wrapper, brush over the wrapper onto the bunch and hold for about a minute and you’ve got a well-repaired stick. Enjoy!

It’s a part of the Credo line and an inexpensive – and useful – addition to your accessory drawer.

Tomorrow, more highlights from our list of cigar gadgets . . . this time from the top five.
