Plus: our Register & Win winner of the week!Los Angeles, July 3 – Does any manufacturer love limited editions more than Davidoff? Hot on the heels of the introduction of the Avo L.E. 7 comes this summer’s entry for The Griffin’s: the Special XXIII Edition. Combining a Connecticut-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador with Dominican-grown filler and binder leaves, the Special XXIII is offered in a Robusto format of 5 3/8 inches by 52 ring gauge in boxes of 10. Each of the cigars is encased in a specially-printed, carbon-fiber tube. A total of 7,500 boxes (75,000 cigars totals) were produced for worldwide sale; retailing for $100.00 for the box of 10, it’s already on sale at 20% off at Mike’s Cigars. We found many more specials to liven up your Fourth of July: Cigars International: Keith Meier and the boys from Bath, Pennsylvania have two nice specials on one brand you know and one you should: • Macanudo Gold Label Hampton Court (5 1/2 x 42), the mildest and most delicately-flavored of the Macanudo line, in boxes of 25 for $110.95, lowest we have found. • REO Robusto (5 x 52), blended by Rocky Patel, offered in a sampler pack of five, was $23.00, now $16.00. Famous Smoke Shop: Arthur Zaretzky and his team take pride in offering the entire Davidoff line on their site, so it’s no surprise that they are one of the first to have the newest sizes: • Davidoff Millennium Blend Toro (6 x 50), a new size for the Millennium Blend line, in a box of 10 for $174.95. • Davidoff 6000 (5 x 48), another new size for the Thousand Series, in a box of 25 for $320.95 or in a pack of four for $52.95. • Medalist by Alec Bradley, a medium-to-full-bodied cigar from Honduras with a smooth taste, now very well priced: > Churchill (7 x 50), in a box of 10 was $44.95, now $41.95; > Cuban Belicoso (5 1/2 x 52), in 10s was $34.95, now $31.95; > Gordo (6 x 54), 10 for $40.95 and > Robusto (5 x 52), 10 for $36.95.
